From Anger To Peace Of Mind

By Dr. Brenda Shoshanna Anger is a serious problem for one in every five Americans. Road rage, workplace violence, domestic abuse and even addiction are just a few of its many expressions. The reason such a large umber of our nations citizens are on antidepressants, overweight, and involved in all kinds of difficult relationships can be directly traced to the effects of anger, particularly the hidden kind. Anger has many faces. It appears in various forms and creates different consequences. Anger that is overt is the simplest to deal with and understand. When we or someone we know is openly angry, we know what we are up against and can address it directly. Unfortunately, however, most anger lurks beneath the surface. It often does not come to our awareness and manifests in endless, hidden ways as depression, anxiety, apathy, hopelessness, and in myriad other forms. Today we fear all kinds of external enemies. It is not so easy to realize, however, that the worse enemy we face is the anger that resides within us, the terror it causes and the ways this poison affects so much of our lives. It is one thing to be told to forgive one another. It is another to know how to do this. Even though we may want to forgive, anger can be ruthless in the course it takes, attacking and disrupting our body, mind and spirits. However, there are many specific steps we can take to root this toxin out of our lives. As we do the results will be reflected not only in our mental and emotional well-being, but also in our environment and physical health. When anger is rooted out, love and forgiveness arise naturally and our lives and relationships become all they are meant to be. Some of The 24 Forms of Anger The first step in rooting anger out of our lives is becoming aware of it. It is crucial that we recognize anger for what it is, be aware that it is appearing and notice the devastation it creates. When anger is allowed to remain camouflaged it holds us in its grip and easily erodes the quality of our entire lives. By recognizing the 24 forms of anger, we will be able to shine a flashlight on the poison within. Then we can choose to eliminate each one of these forms of anger, one a day. There are many wonderful antidotes that we can take. Instead of allowing anger to take hold, we simply replace it with a life giving, constructive, healing response. To begin we will look at a few of the 24 forms of anger, and how it affects your life. More will be explored in further articles and are also detailed in The Anger Diet. In this article we will also explore some ways these forms of anger can be eliminated. 1) Straightforward Anger Attack. This is anger that is clear-cut and easy to recognize. The anger comes right out. Many regret it afterwards, feeling they couldnt control themselves. This kind of anger has a life of its own; it rises like a flash storm and can easily turn into verbal, emotional or physical abuse. 2) Hypocrisy You are angry, but hide it beneath a smile and present a false persona, pretending to be someone youre not. This behavior evolves into bad faith of all kinds. Although you think you are fooling others, in truth you are losing yourself and your own self-respect. 3) Depression Depression is so pervasive these days, and it ranges the gamut from mild to severe. Depression is anger and rage turned against oneself. It comes from not being able to identify or appropriately express the anger one is feeling. It then simply turns into depressions, attack against the person who is experiencing it. 4) Passive Aggression This is a form of anger expressed not by what we do but by what we do not do. We refuse to give the other person what they ask for, want or need. In this manner we anger the other while making it seem as though they are the one that is overly demanding. This is a way of expressing anger without taking responsibility for it, and blaming the other for what we have set in motion. Steps To Dissolving Anger Needless to say there are many specific steps to take to undo different forms of anger. We will offer some samples. The important point to realize is that anger can be dissolved in a moment. We can choose to see things differently. We can choose to make a different response. It takes only a moment to escalate a situation and in that same moment, the trouble can be de-escalated. We must stop in the middle of automatic anger that arises, and take charge of what is going on. We can and must decide that we will not let anger take over and rule. We have the right and responsibility to choose how we will respond. Sample Ways To De-Escalate Anger: 1) Straightforward Attack: Stop in the middle of a situation in which you either feel angry or are being attacked. Expand your vistas. Rather than respond in a knee-jerk manner, say to yourself, Like me, this person has suffered. Like me, this person wants to be happy, like me this person experiences loneliness and loss. As you do this, you are recognizing the similarities and common humanity you share, rather than focus on the differences. For a moment, allow the person to be right. You have plenty of time to be right later. Ask yourself, what is more important to you, to be right or to be free of anger? Choose compassion and see how you feel.See how the other feels as well. Watch new vistas open in your life. 2) Hypocrisy: This is a common form of anger that appears in many different ways. When you notice yourself pretending, lying, exaggerating or deceiving, stop. Tell the truth at that moment. Be the truth. If you do not know what the truth is, be silent and become aware of what the deepest truth is for you. (This does not mean pouring out negativity or blaming the other. It means taking responsibility for what is real and true for you. (This will not only restore good will, it will connect you with what is most meaningful in your life.) 3) Depression: Make friends with yourself today. When we are depressed, we are rejecting, hating and blaming ourselves. Undo this false state of mind. Find five things you admire and respect about who you are. Focus on sharing your good qualities with another. In depression we are only absorbed with ourselves. A wonderful antidote is to become absorbed with how you can reach out to and help another. As we root anger out of our lives, and find meaningful substitutions not only our lives but the lives of our loved ones, friends and acquaintances will be lifted and enhanced. Women Tend to Keep Options Open till Thirties

By Crid Lee Recently, I have conducted a research by speaking to my female friends who are single. I asked them why they are staying single. At first, I thought that they are short of suitors. But they told me that this is not the main reason. They have the looks and statues, and have queues of guys waiting to hook up with them. The main reason to remain single at least until they reach their thirties, is that they want to keep their options open. They want to stay in the game as long as possible. They know that in their twenties, they have all the time in the world to play the game. So why rush into getting into a serious relationship so soon? That is why they will tend to play hard to get with men in the courtship game. Of course not all women are like that. I have female friends in their twenties who are in serious relationship and see themselves marrying the guys they are with now. But in reality, there are women out there who just are not ready to get out of the game. So my advice to you guys out there is to find out what your girl really wants before you get into a relationship with them, if not you will set yourself up for disappointments and hurting memories. Ironically, women who stay in the game too long tend to be not able to get out of the game, especially after thirties. I have female friends telling me Oh no, I am reaching my thirties, and after that, my value will drop! I must definitely get married before that happens! For women out there, if you are really worried about this issue, my advice is to get out of the game fast, before you start to bombard yourself with all those silly thoughts and uncertainties. I believe that if you look hard enough for the one you love; eventually you will meet the one that is suitable for you and worth spending your entire life with. Viral Advertising: “Will it Blend?”

By John Bradley Jackson You may have read about the merits of viral advertising, which is a relatively new term that refers to marketing techniques that use social networks (i.e. MySpace, your e-mail buddy list, etc) to pass along messages, e-mails, or video clips. The message gets read or viewed and then is passed along to a friend or colleague in a viral fashion. Much like the chain letter of the old days, viral advertising is efficient and pinpoints its target. Advertisers figured out that an odd or entertaining video might be just the vehicle to bury an advertisement. Below is a viral ad from a high-end blender company called BlendTec, a consumer product company that I had never heard of before this viral advertisement. They have produced a series of quirky ads that have floated around the internet with many now archived on YouTube. This kitschy ad series has a catch phrase of Will it Blend with a host that reminds me of my sons high school physics teacher replete with lab coat, safety glasses, and silly grin. Each episode includes another goofy test of the BlendTec blender with some offbeat item in the blender. I will stop there and let you make your own judgment. Got to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_A3EAuXA38 The point is that this is a powerful technique that many businesses could use to build their brand awareness. 5 Highly Effective Ways to Use Your Mortgage Business Card…Part I

By Tom Domin We all carry them…at least we should. And, we all try to have them available for the right occasion…at least we try. We collect them so they can be used for future reference…which is good. But, are we really using them effectively? I’m referring of course, to the “business card.” Now, don’t bail out on me here and click away…this is really good stuff! Your business card can be one of most powerful forms of marketing available to you. Now, as you know, it’s not meant to be the only form of marketing you use…but, as the old saying goes: If you’ve got it…use it! Actually, that’s not quite right. Any way, here’s my list of highly effective ways to use your business card to help you originate more mortgages: 1. Add value to your business card. Here’s a sobering fact: More times than not, your customers and prospects currently throw away your business cards. This is their logic: I just met this person or I just purchased or refinanced my home and I won’t need a mortgage for a long time…so I’ll just throw the card away. Six months from now, when their brother-in-law needs to refinance, not only will they have forgotten your telephone number, but your name as well. So how do you add value to your cards? The answer is simple…laminate them. I know…what a pain! But, the fact is…people just don’t throw things away that are laminated. Your laminated business card has perceived value, and isn’t that exactly what we want? We want them to keep those cards for not only their personal use…but for their brother-in-law too. We want them to keep those cards forever? I have to tell you, I’ve been laminating my cards for years. A few months back, one of my cards surfaced that was about six years old. How did I know that? Stay tuned for the answer…its coming up next. 2. Use the back of your business card. I’m not kidding folks…this is great space…use it. As you know, mortgage money is readily available today and with it comes some very low “Start Rate” adjustable rate mortgages. That’s what I promote on the back of my business card today. The back of my card looks something like this: Ask me about the 1.00%* Mortgage *The 1.00% Start Rate is based on the fully indexed MTA with an APR (etc., etc.) All loans are subject to credit approval. Rates and programs may change without notice. The 1.00% is in huge bold red print. “Ask me about the,” and the word “mortgage” are smaller in bold blue print. The disclaimer is very small in black print. So, how do I use my double sided card? This is what I say to my contact: “Here’s my card…if you even hear the word mortgage mentioned…please give them my card…that’s how I make my living. And, by the way, we have a great mortgage with a 1.00% start rate” and there’s a reminder of that on the back.” That little statement is a great conversation starter as it always seems to get a response. I hear things like this all the time: “Wow, that’s a great rate! I refinanced last year at 6.25%…can I get that Rate?” or “You’re kidding…what’s the catch?” My response to the first: “You probably can! We should take a look at it. When can we get together? Is tomorrow OK, or should we do it Saturday? My response to the second: “No catch…it’s the hottest mortgage product on the market today and it can save you a ton of money! We should get together and talk about it…etc. I’m amazed that with all the advertising and hype these low start rate programs have experienced…there are still tons of people out there that don’t know anything about them… these programs are super HOT! If you’re sitting on the side lines and watching, and not generating mortgages…you are missing out on the greatest financing opportunity available ever. I keep saying to myself…”This can’t last too much longer, the price of money has to go up!” And yes…I’m glad it hasn’t! Everyone that originates mortgages has a low start rate adjustable available to them. Now, you may have a 1.00%, or 1.25%, or 1.50%, or 1.95%. The point here is…learn it, promote it…and you’ll make a bunch of money with it. Remember that lost business card that came back after some six years? Although I’ve worked for multiple lenders over the years, and laminated my cards for many years…my card back changes with the times. At that point, I was printing a small amortization table on the back, so that someone could reference it and with one calculation, come up with a principle and interest payment knowing their mortgage amount. Interest rates were quite different back then. My contact said he saved that card because it was laminated…now he needed my services…and he called! Just as side note: That same contact is now the proud owner of a low start rate mortgage. I know what you’re thinking at this point…in my case the company I worked for printed all of their business cards in-house…so I could use both sides of the card. If your company has cards prepared for you by a printer, you can still do it. Design a card back, print it on card stock, put the two together back to back, and then…laminate it! 6 Ways to Generate 100 Free Mortgage Leads in 20 Days

By Hartley Pinn Could you use some free mortgage leads? If youre new to the mortgage business or a veteran loan officer who is a little short on cash, youll be happy to know there are several ways to generate free mortgage leads. Thats right. Even if youre dead broke, you can still generate good, quality, pre-qualified mortgage leads at no cost. Just keep reading and Ill share 6 powerful steps to generate free mortgage leads. 1) Create a powerful unique selling proposition (USP) If you dont currently have a unique selling proposition Find one. What makes you different from all the other mortgage lenders out there? What makes you better? Why should a prospect use you over a competitor? Answer these questions and you will have your unique selling proposition. This is an important first step because you will need a strong USP to generate free mortgage leads using the tips below. 2) Find joint venture partners Offer a referral fee of $100 to $1000 for any referral resulting in a funded loan. Offer this opportunity to all friends, family, neighbors, anyone and everyone. Can you call the past clients of a co-worker to generate referrals? If so, you could split the commissions generated from your efforts. 3) Give free seminars Arrange to present your USP to others to produce referrals. Here are some ideas: 1) Contact the sales manager at real estate offices to present your USP at a realtor sales meeting 2) Contact human resource managers. Give a free seminar to employees of a company. 3) Present your USP to CPAs or financial planners to create referral relationships. 4) Contact divorce attorneys and offer your services to their clients. 5) Contact relocation companies Do you need some ideas for how to successfully approach these professional? If so, visit the following web page and download three sample approach letters: http://www.Mortgage-Leads-Generator.com/a/refiletter.htm 4) Write Articles Write articles about mortgage products, rates, no closing cost loans or no money down financing. Then submit your articles to article directories with your contact information at the end of the article. Here are the article directories I recommend: About: http://sbinformation.about.com/library/blsubmission.htm ezinearticles.com goarticles.com articledashboard.com searchwarp.com contentdesk.com isnare.com buzzle.com ideamarketers.com businessknowhow.com articlesphere.com amazines.com web-source.net/syndicator_submit.htm Try to include the following elements in your articles: 1) Useful information a must! 2) A text link to your site. 3) A lead generating offer relating to the subject mater in your article. Provide a link to a web page on your site where the reader can get a complementary special report or something else of value. If you submit just two articles a week to the sites listed above, after one year you would have 100 articles all over the internet. If you publish useful information, these 100 articles could easily generate hundreds if not thousands of free mortgage leads daily. 5) Start your direct mail campaign Borrow money from a friend or family member and start a mail campaign. Use a credit card or borrow a credit card to get started. If you borrow money or a credit card, offer that person a split of the commissions generated from the project. 6) Cross sell Once you get a client using one of the 5 tips above, impress them with your extraordinary customer service skills and generate a testimonial. Use that testimonial to create a referral relationship with: * HR manager at their work * Listing real estate agent and that agents entire office * Selling real estate agents and that agents entire office * CPA * Financial planner * Insurance agent * The seller of the home on a purchase transaction * Title Company * Real estate appraiser * Neighbors There you have it. Communication Tips - How to Get a Man to Open Up and Talk More

By Michael Douglas Men, we know don’t cry. And we also know, they don’t talk much. But the fact is that men are desperate to talk, to speak their hearts out. But usually they shy away from saying what’s on their mind. Follow this guide on how to get your man talking freely to you. Win his confidence Unlike their better halves, most men are afraid of women being critical of them. Men hate being humiliated. So don’t judge him by what he’s saying or make fun of his ideas. Just accept him the way he is and encourage him to talk. Talk about yourself In order to help him talk about himself, reveal a little about yourself - your past, your favourite songs, an embarrassing incident. You’ll help him feel comfortable, and eventually get him talking. Let go of the past Don’t rake up unpleasant memories. If he hurt you the day before yesterday, don’t hold on to it. Men hate lingering on the same topic. If he’d said sorry, simply forget the incident. You don’t want him to clam up. Be a good listener Instead of yapping, give your guy a chance to discuss certain issues or just pour his heart out. Be patient, it can be tiring playing the role of a listener. But it’ll pay in the end. Make him feel special You need to exude a feeling of togetherness. Be around him, buy him his favourite deo or CD, cook a meal for him, go out for a movie - just make him feel special. This is the best way you can get him to open up and talk his heart out. You can find more related tips and articles at Love-Lectures.com. Birdwatching; A Free And Fascinating Pastime For All

By Jackie Gee My first experience of deliberate birdwatching took place in Richmond Great Park. The time; 1966, the occasion; one of the first dates with my (now) husband. There I was, all dressed up and ready to knock him out with my drop dead gorgeousness (memory plays strange tricks as you get older!) and there he was, luring me into the undergrowth of the park, hissing to me to keep my head down. No, it wasn’t this bird’s feathers he was after observing, but a green woodpecker that he had spotted. It must have been love on my part because, although I don’t remember seeing the flash of emerald, I do remember getting my trendy high boots covered in mud. And that was the first of many times that I have shared the joys of avian observation with my spouse. He had been a committed twitcher from an early age. As a boy, a family friend had dragged him along to many birdwatching expeditions, from sighting a large wader (a ruff) on a one time sewage farm, soon to become the fifth terminal at Heathrow, to happy weekends spent observing the many migrants arriving on the Norfolk coast from Europe. Birdwatching is one nature pursuit that just about anybody can get something out of, and most of us have ‘twitched’ at some time in our lives. What child hasn’t fed the ducks, or pigeons? That’s the good thing about birds. They are so accessible. You can see them almost everywhere at any time of the day. And you can hear them; blackbirds and nightingales have been immortalised in song and verse. The ubiquitous gull can be heard far inland; pigeons coo vociferously in our city centres; rooks squawk as they arrive at their evening roosts and starlings chatter as they gather in flocks on our roofs, telegraph wires and urban trees. No other wild animal group is so easy to see and admire. The skill of flying, and therefore the ability to get out of the way if needs must, has been a boon for the latent birdwatcher in all of us. That birdwatching foray with my husband to be was the first of many enjoyable observations of our feathered friends. Some I will never forget. Standing on top of the Preseli hills in Wales and listening to the liquid bubbling coming from the throats of hundreds of curlews in the gathering dusk of the evening; sadly not a common occurrence nowadays. Or that magic afternoon, cycling along a country road with my young son and counting 32 larks as they rose skywards from the fields either side of us. Another sight, rarer now than it used to be, was the spectacle of thousands of starlings darkening the sky and turning as one with a whoosh of wings, above the field next to our first home; We’ve watched puffins and guillemots on Skomer island off the coast of West Wales and along the seashore we have seen countless flocks of all sorts of waders. And how to describe the thrill of seeing two peregrine falcons screeching over a deceased pigeon that they were devouring at the base of a sea cliff; or watching red kites circling lazily in the thermals above the hills of mid Wales. And there are always more. I’m so glad I’ve seen at least one dipper, incongruously running along a stream bed, underwater feeding. Another stream frequenter, the heron, can also be sighted, perched in prehistoric stance, in the middle of a field. What is it doing? I am assured by that fount of all bird knowledge (my husband) that it’s on the lookout for a tasty mole; and sometimes, if we went out on a Summer night, we would be lucky enough to catch sight of a little owl, staring down at us from his high perch on a telegraph pole. We called one of our houses Hafod Y Wennol, Welsh for summer house of the swallows, because, in it’s previous life as a cow parlour, the swallows had swooped in and made their little mud nests on it’s walls. We felt so guilty at evicting them from their home, especially after such a long and perilous journey from their Winter habitat somewhere in Africa. But swallow poo is prolific and not to be tolerated indoors; and they did have a garage and another barn to breed in. For many years they were a significant part of our summer; the sighting of the first arrival was always noted. Their twittering and swooping round the farmyard a never ending source of enjoyment; their gathering on the telephone wire and subsequent departure a gloomy time, heralding as it did the approaching winter. And at our next home, a tall Edwardian town house, we had the amazing luck to be the Summer residence to a flock of swifts, whose ariel acrobatics, as they screamed past our windows, would have put the Red Devils to shame. We never tired of watching as they swooped and dived after insects, banking at the last second when it seemed they must collide with the house wall. It was better than television! We have been lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the country where birdlife is prolific and constant. But town dwellers have opportunities too. In any urban garden a wide variety of town birds can be seen; especially with a little bit of encouragement. Introduce a nut feeder and a bird table and, abracadabra, in an amazingly short space of time there will be blue tits, robins, blackbirds, sparrows and various finches; if you’re lucky there might be the odd nuthatch. The tiny wren might hop about underneath, picking up any titbits and, if, they all suddenly scatter for no apparent reason, look up to the skies and search for the shape of a sparrowhawk, on the lookout for an unwary prey. Yes, bird watching is something that you can do all through your life; from a window or outdoors. Introduce your children to this fascinating world and they will have a pleasure that will last and last; it’s free entertainment and an excellent grounding in learning how to appreciate some of the wonderful world around us.
